August 14, 2025

ThePixel 6 and Pixel 6 Proare on their way. Google has already announced its plans to launch a major revamp of its flagship Pixel smartphones later this year.

We know the Pixel 6 series will have an under-display fingerprint sensor and use a new in-houseTensor processor. Now, it looks like our first glimpse of the Pixel 6 series’ under-display fingerprint sensor has been shown off on Twitter.

Hiroshi Lockheimer, head of Google’s Android division, posted what looked to be an innocent imageon his Twitter account. His cheeky caption mentioned that he was trying out new wallpaper combinations with Android 12’s Material You theming engine. As you can see in the screenshot, the device’s under-display fingerprint sensor icon is sitting right below the clock widget, giving us a first glimpse of what the sensor will look like on the Pixel 6.

Soon after the post was up on Twitter, Hiroshi deleted the tweet.

As we all know, almost nothing completely disappears from the internet. Mishaal Rahman, editor-in-chief ofXDA-Developers, reposted a copy of Lockheimer’s deleted Twitter poston his own account.

The screenshot itself had a resolution of 1,440 x 3,200, althougha later tweet clarifiedthat the Pixel 6’s screen resolution should be 1,140 x 3,120. Screen resolutions aside, the image also showed thatVerizon’s5G network was connected to the phone.

If that’s the case, it makes sense why Lockheimer deleted his Twitter post. After all, why delete an image taken from an already available phone? In any case, we should get more official info from Google about the new Pixel 6 phones sometime later this fall.
