Android needs to steal this video calling feature from Apple right now

One of the biggest annoyances duringvideo callsis that you have to choose between looking at the screen or looking at the camera. Point your eyes at the screen and it’s like you’re not staring at other participants in the call, but cast your gaze to the camera and you’re able to’t actually see what the other participants are doing.
Now,Applehas introduced a killer solution in the latest iOS 13 beta, andGoogleshould definitely add this to Android. The “Facetime Attention Correction” feature, spotted by Twitter users Will Sigmon and Mike Rundle, corrects your gaze while conducting FaceTime calls.
Apple is essentially using software to give the impression that you’re looking at the camera when you’re actually looking at the screen. In other words, you’re getting the best of both worlds.
According to users on theiOSbetasubreddit, Facetime Attention Correction is currently exclusive to the 2018iPhonesand the iPad Pro 2018. Hopefully the feature makes its way to older devices too when iOS 13 hits prime-time.
In any event, we’d love to see the feature land on Android or third-party apps such asSkype,WhatsApp, and Zoom. It’s also a reminder that for all the hate Apple gets from some quarters, it’s still capable of delivering features you didn’t know you wanted.
