AT&T and T-Mobile will sell Snapdragon-powered Windows 10 laptops

Qualcomm’s mission to deliver a new generation of PC hardwarepowered by Snapdragon processorsreceived a huge boost today after carriers T-Mobile and AT&T announced plans to sell always connected PC devices in the US.
With Verizon and Sprint already on board, the confirmation means that Windows 10 laptops and 2-in-1’s powered bySnapdragon 835and845Mobile PC Platforms will go on sale via all four major networks in the US market.
The silicon giant has also confirmed which networks will sell the first wave of 4G LTE-enabled devices in Asia, Australia, and selected European markets. Below is the full list of operators confirmed today who join those announced by Qualcomm atCES 2018:
So far, we’ve seen ASUS, Lenovo, and HP jump on the “Always Connected PC” bandwagon. Qualcomm noted today that consumers can expect those devices to hit shelves in the first half of 2018.
Expectations are high for Snapdragon-powered laptops, with extended battery life and improved connectivity both touted as major selling points over traditional hardware.
An official list of limitations for Windows 10 running on ARM processors that surfaced mere days ago has raised a few eyebrows, however – especially after Microsoftswiftly pulledthe document.
Nevertheless, the Always Connected PCs are expected to provide consumers with another alternative toChromebooksin the low-to-mid-tier market, particularly in the enterprise sector.
