Don’t expect OnePlus 8T McLaren or any other OnePlus/McLaren phone in the future

July 14, 2025

Unfortunately, it seems like the partnership is over asredditor rudefyetnoted that OnePlus was no longer listed as a 2020 F1 partner on the McLaren website (h/t:XDA-Developers). The company was listed until March 29 at the very least, according toXDA.

This means the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren is probably the last OnePlus/McLaren phone as a result of the pairing. So those expecting aOnePlus 8or OnePlus 8T McLaren Edition are likely setting themselves up for disappointment.

The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition offered more RAM (10GB) and 30W charging compared to the standard model’s 6GB to 8GB of RAM and 20W charging. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren offered more RAM (12GB) and5Gcompared to the OnePlus 7T Pro’s 8GB of RAM and 4G connectivity. Otherwise, the McLaren phones also sported tweaked designs compared to the standard OnePlus devices.

This doesn’t mean we won’t see special edition OnePlus phones down the line at all, as the firm could team up with someone else or go it alone. Nevertheless, we’ve contacted OnePlus and they said they had “no comment to provide at this time.” We’ve also contacted McLaren and will update the article accordingly. What did you think of the McLaren edition devices? Let us know in the comments!
