Galaxy Note 9 tipped for Korea on August 24, may beat next iPhone to release
June 29, 2025
The Galaxy Note 9 hype train is steaming on ahead of the August 9 reveal date. Now, it’s been reported that the phablet will be launched in Korea on August 24.
The news comes via the Korean-languageETNewsoutlet (translated version), citingSamsungand cellular network officials. In other words, the phone should be available roughly two weeks after the reveal date.

It means Samsung is once again hoping to steal Apple’s thunder, as the Cupertino company traditionally launches its phones in September. The Korean company has launched its Galaxy Note devices ahead of Apple’s iPhones for the past few years. The reported release date would also be earlier than the Galaxy Note 8’s September 15 release.
According to the publication, the Galaxy Note 9 is equipped with aSnapdragon 845orExynos 9810chipset, a 6.4-inch 2,960 x 1,440 AMOLED screen, and a 4,000mAh battery. It adds that the new phablet will have a 12MP+12MP dual camera setup, and an 8MP front-facing shooter.

We also know the device will have aBluetooth-equipped S Penstylus, owing to an FCC filing earlier this month. The filing reveals that the S Pen can be charged via the phone. According toETNews, the new S Pen will be used for controlling home appliances and as a remote shutter for the camera.
This isn’t the only Note 9 news we’ve seen recently, asAndroid Headlinesapparentlyobtaineda render of the upcoming phablet this week. The image shows a phone that looks largely identical to theGalaxy Note 8. So those hoping for a redesigned Note might be disappointed.
Don’t forget that the Galaxy Note 8 was released in the U.S. and South Korea simultaneously last year, so if this latest speculation is accurate, you could see it Stateside on August 24 too.
