Google’s ‘Sabrina’ Android TV dongle could debut well below $100
June 07, 2025
Earlier this year, Google was rumored to be working on anAndroid TV-based streaming dongle that would prop up its Chromecast hardware offerings.
Now, new possible pricing details of the device, codenamed “Sabrina,” have been uncovered on multiple internal listings from US retailers.

Per a9to5Googlereport, the dongle wears a $50 price tag according to Home Depot and is joined by what could be a remote codenamed “Abbey.” This would be Google’s first Chromecast device to arrive with adedicated remote. Notably, there are three colorway options mentioned too, including Rock Candy, Como Blue, and Summer Melon.
A $50-$60 price tag does seem to be the consensus between a number of US retailers, too.Droid-Lifespotted a $60 sticker over at Walmart, whileAndroid Police‘sArtem Russakovskiiconfirmed that an internal price of $60 for the dongle has been spotted at Target, including a September 30 release date.

If Google’s serious about challenging the likes of the Amazon Fire TV, it’s going about it the right way. For its price, the new dongle is expected to be beefier than previous Chromecasts as it reportedly runs Android TV onboard. Concrete hardware specs remain unknown, however.
Still, the mere presence of a remote will go a long way to improving its usability. Google’s entertainment-centric OS, alongside that rumored remote, should also give users more control over the content they wish to enjoy without the need to constantly cast from another device.
Google is also expected to debut aChromecast Ultraat some point this year which may also feature a remote control, but there are no secret retail listings in sight for this device just yet.
