June 26, 2025

In a press conference in New Delhi, HMD Global surprised many by launching its entire 2018 portfolio (for now) in India in one go.

The company reiterated the newNokia 1that was launched last week, and then went on to launch the second-generationNokia 6as well as the two devices unveiled at the Mobile World Congress a few weeks ago – theNokia 7 Plusand theNokia 8 Sirocco.

HMD Global - Nokia

Except for the Nokia 1, all three devices – Nokia 6, Nokia 7 Plus, and Nokia 8 Sirocco – are part of Google’s Android One initiative. This will allow users to experience pure, bloatware-free Android with timely OS upgrades and security patches.

Nokia 6 (2018)

The new Nokia 6 is now powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor – and upgrade from the Snapdragon 430 that we saw on the last generation one – and packs in the OZO Audio spatial recording technology and Dual-sight mode (remember, bothies?) with ZEISS optics – two features that were introduced with the Nokia 8 last year.

There’s also fast charging via USB Type-C port this time around.

Nokia 6

Priced at ₹16,999 ($261) and available in three colors, the new Nokia 6 will be available at Nokia Mobile Shop and select retail outlets like Sangeetha, Poorvika, Big C, Croma and Reliance starting April 6.

Nokia 7 Plus

The Nokia 7 Plus is a fairly significant upgrade over the vanilla Nokia 7 and is the first phone in the company’s portfolio that sports a taller display with an 18:9 aspect ratio – a Full HD+ 6-inch IPS LCD panel.

The Nokia 7 Plus looks like a premium device despite its mid-range price-tag and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM. The move over to a Snapdragon 660 mobile processor, up from the Snapdragon 630, offers a little more CPU grunt in the form of four Kryo 260 cores.

Nokia 7 Plus

The biggest upgrade from the Nokia 7 is in the camera department. The Nokia 7 Plus sports a dual camera setup at the back with ZEISS optics, and the 12MP sensor is paired with a 13MP telephoto lens. The front-facing camera, meanwhile, clocks in at 16 MP.

Available in two colors – Black and White – with copper accents, the Nokia 7 Plus is priced at ₹25,999 ($399) and will go on sale starting April 30 with pre-bookings starting from April 20. It will be available online on Amazon.in and Nokia Mobile Shop, as well as from select retail outlets like Sangeetha, Poorvika, Big C, Croma and Reliance.

Nokia 8 Sirocco

Nokia 8 Sirocco

The Nokia 8 Sirocco looks like a piece of art, and the company’s flagship smartphone features wireless charging and an IP67 water resistance rating, but ditches the 3.5 mm headphone jack.

It combines last year’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The 5.5-inch Quad HD pOLED display comes with 16:9 aspect ratio, so it’s shorter and squatter than most of the other phones in the market.

The Nokia 8 Sirocco is the highest-end Android One device on the market, and is priced at ₹49,999 ($768). It will be available online on Flipkart and Nokia Mobile Shop, as well as from select retail outlets like Sangeetha, Poorvika, Big C, Croma and Reliance starting April 30, while the pre-bookings begin on April 20.

HMD Global also announced the launch of Nokia phones shop – an online shop for all Nokia devices and accessories in the country.
