HUAWEI Nova 3 will feature two dual-lens cameras, P20-style design (Updated)

July 30, 2025

Update (07/04):HUAWEI has shared a teaser for the Nova 3 onChinese social media(viaGSMArena). The promo image shows the Nova 3 in yellow/gold and blue/teal colors with a rear fingerprint sensor, a vertical dual-lens camera, and a display notch. The teaser tallies with renders that recently emerged on TENAA (below).

With the design and most of the internal specs now in the wild, all that really remains to be seen is the price and availability which should be confirmed at a launch event in China on July 18.

HUAWEI Nova 3 teaser image

Original story (07/03):With thelatest P series releasestill fresh in the memory and the next-generation Mate range still some way off in the distance, HUAWEI’s next stop for 2018 should see its mid-range Nova phones step back into the limelight.

Judging by a newTENAA listingand a few leaked images, that’s exactly what’s in store with the HUAWEI Nova 3 which looks set to break cover on July 18.

HUAWEI Nova 3 TENAA renders

Taking more than a few design cues fromHuawei’s P20 phones, the Nova 3 will sport a FullView-style 6.3-inch display with a 2340 × 1080 resolution. It’s tricky to tell from the TENAA images, but early speculation suggests HUAWEI will continue its recent trend and bring the notch to the Nova series.

The listing confirms the Nova 3 will be powered by a Kirin 710 SoC backed by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage (expandable) as standard, with a 6GB RAM/128GB model also on the way. A 3,650mAh battery is also referenced, as isAndroid 8.1 Oreo, which will no doubt be covered by HUAWEI’s EMUI skin.

HUAWEI Nova 3 slide release date leak

That’s not all we know, though, as further details leaked onWeibo(viaFone Arena). The most interesting part is a slide which shows the July 18 release date. Otherwise, the main takeaway is the Nova 3’s alleged 24MP + 16MP rear camera and 24MP + 2MP selfie shooter combos.

We’ll likely hear more about pricing and availability for the Chinese market — and potentially news of a larger model, if HUAWEI sticks with the same options we saw with theNova 2— later this month. A European release should follow, although judging by the range’s previous entries and HUAWEI’sfrosty relationship with the U.S.right now, it seems unlikely it’ll reach western shores through official channels any time soon.
