Leaked photo of a Nokia phone with 5 rear cameras is a trypophobic’s nightmare

Before we get into the news here, we should warn you: if you’re trypophobic you might not want to scroll down. If you don’t know what trypophobic means, we’d advise you not to Google it, as it will probably give you nightmares. We’ll save you a search: trypophobia is an aversion to the sight of irregular patterns or clusters of small holes or bumps.
With that warning out of the way, we can now tell you about a newly-leaked image that seems to depict an unreleased Nokia-branded smartphone with a whopping five camera lenses on the rear. The lenses are arranged in a circular pattern with the addition of a circular flash and circular sensor.

As outrageous as the image looks, this does line up with info we already know aboutHMD Global(the company that owns the mobile Nokia brand) and its plans for camera lenses on smartphones.
For example, we know thatHMD purchased the PureView trademark from Microsofta few weeks ago, which leads us to believe that HMD plans to bring back the famous camera branding. We also knowthere’s a rumor about the Nokia 10sporting a camera module similar to this. And, finally, we also know that Nokia (before HMD took over) invested in a startup thatfocuses on multi-lens cameras.
In other words, while the image above may not be legit, it certainly lines up very well with industry rumors.
We can only hope that HMD doesn’t actually employ this design on a smartphone that will hit the market. While it’s certainly not a terrible idea to have that many lenses on a smartphone, this design, in particular, will leave many people feeling uneasy.
