June 10, 2025

Given thatAndroid 6.0 Marshmallowis quickly approaching the two month mark from when it was first made available to Nexus devices, customers using devices made byotherOEMs are no doubt wondering when the gooey goodness will be melting with their mobile.

Some may recall that, much likewith Lollipop last year, LG quickly released the new OS build toG4 users in Poland, a country which often sees itself serving as a test market for this kind of thing. Soon afterKorean variants started to get 6.0. Now it seems the time is finally at hand for Europe-at-large to munch on Marshmallow, though sadly notallof it.

There is some talk on reddit that the updates are only hitting unlocked devices, thus it may be some time yet before carrier variants receive Marshmallow. Likewise, there seem to be a number of countries in Europe that haven’t received the update yet; at the moment it’s unclear as to if LG will be distributing it to all territories or if the roll-out will be in stages. We will update this story accordingly as we learn more information.

Knock Code Marshmallow G4

At the very least, LG has once again managed to get a new Android OS build out before just about all of its rivals. Those interested in theotherflagship of 2015,the V10, might be somewhat saddened to note that the Korean OEM isn’t planning to update said deviceuntil next year, no doubt a result of the unique situation related to the second display.

Let us know if you’ve received Marshmallow on your G4 yet, and if you have, what your initial impressions are.
