Nokia’s camera app gives us a hint to its 2018 plans

After many years out of the limelight, Nokia burst back on the scene in 2017.HMD Globalreleased six smartphones under the brand to audiences all over the world. But that was 2017. Fans are wondering how HMD will follow up its freshman year and what we can expect in 2018. According to a new leak, we may be getting an early look at the company’s plans.
The information comes fromMySmartPricewho decompiled the company’s camera app. According to PNG files in the app, the names of the unreleased devices are theNokia 1, 4, 7 Plus, and9.

We’ve seen leaks of the Nokia 9 fromas far back as May of 2017. The device will allegedly be a new flagship, and come equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 4 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of storage. The Nokia 1 will reside at the other end of the spectrum. The entry-level device is expected to runAndroid Go, and come with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage.
This is the first we’re hearing about the Nokia 4 or 7 Plus. If the company’s naming convention holds up, we expect the 4 to be a budget device, much like theNokia 3 and 5. The 7 Plus should provide incremental upgrades over the currentNokia 7that has a 5.2-inch 1080p display, 4 or 6 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor.

While we lack many details on these devices right now, we expect to hear more soon.CES 2018kicks off in less than a week, and HMD is hosting an event on January 19 in China.
