OnePlus 7 Pro gets update: Expect touch sensitivity and front camera fixes

July 29, 2025

A little over a week after OnePlus pushed outOxygenOS 9.5.7to theOnePlus 7 Pro, the Chinese brand today announced theOxygenOS 9.5.8update for its flagship phone.

OxygenOS 9.5.8 seems tame relative to previous updates, but it includes the May 2019 security patch. It also includes additional optimizations for the display’s touch sensitivity. OnePlus supposedly fixed the “phantom touch” issue withOxygenOS9.5.7, but further optimizations never hurt.

The update also improves compatibility for third-partyUSB-C headphonesand improves audio quality during phone calls. Finally, the update fixes an issue with the pop-up selfie camera. When there’s an incoming video call, there’s now a gray button you can tap to raise the front camera. Previously, the pop-up camera would open for an incoming video call while the screen was off or locked.

As with previous updates, OxygenOS 9.5.8 is having a staged rollout. That means you could see the update on your device arrive as soon as today or later in the week. Either way, here’s hoping that OnePlus finally put the phantom touch issue to rest.
