OnePlus 7T will charge faster than OnePlus 7 Pro, still no wireless charging

July 27, 2025

OnePlushas stood out for years now thanks to its Warp Charge/Dash Charge technology, touting fast charging speeds ever since 2014’sOnePlus One.

TheOnePlus 7Tis poised to go even faster though, as company founder Pete Lau toldTechRadarthat it’ll have Warp Charge 30T technology.

The OnePlus 7T will offer Warp Charge 30T technology.

“We believe that Warp Charge 30T offers the best charging solution for real-world usage,” Lau is quoted as saying. “You can charge the phone at 23% faster speeds, even while using the device.”

We clarified this claim with OnePlus representatives, who confirmed that the OnePlus 7T will have a 23% boost to charging speed (not charging power) compared to theOnePlus 7 Pro. Lau toldTechradarthat Warp Charge 30T delivers 30W charging, much like the OnePlus 7 Pro’s Warp Charge tech.

This charging time improvement suggests that the OnePlus 7T will have more charging optimizations and a smaller battery than the OnePlus 7 Pro, as they’re packing roughly similar charging speeds.

Don’t expect wireless charging on OnePlus 7T

Hoping forwireless chargingthis time? Well, not this year. “Wireless charging doesn’t currently offer the fast experience that we are comfortable adding to our devices,” Lau reportedly said.

It’s a little disappointing but not surprising that wireless charging isn’t available on OnePlus phones yet. We’ve seenSamsungandHuaweioffer 18W wireless charging or higher, while OnePlus sister company OPPO has also justannounced30W wireless charging.

OnePlus hasheld out on IP ratingsfor the longest time, citing increased costs that would be passed on to consumers. So it’s reasonable to assume that they’re holding out on wireless charging for the same reason.

OnePlus won’t be the only phone with fast wired charging in 2019 though, asHuawei’s recent flagshipsall offer 40W charging, while Samsung’sGalaxy Note 10 Plusdelivers45W chargingwith an optional adapter. OPPO has also announced65W chargingfor its upcoming Reno Ace, so OnePlus will need to step its game up next year.
