OnePlus X may cost the equivalent of $270 in China

August 21, 2025

To be fair, this price – assuming it’s legitimate – is for the Chinese market, so there is always a chance it will be less for customers in the USA, especially given the company doesn’t have nearly the same name recognition outside of Asia.

Regardless of what the cost actually is, the potential of a $270″small” device is not likely to gain OnePlus the positive kind of traction last year saw. The company, having earlier this year promised a 2016 flagship killer with its OnePlus 2, has been criticized to the point where the company itself hassought to apologizefor the excessive hype and promises.

The handset is said to feature 5-inch 1080p display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and Synaptics’ ClearForce Technology, an octa-core MediaTek MT6795 SoC, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 13-megapixel Sony IMX258 camera, and a 2,450mAh battery. The phone is said to be powered by Oxygen 3.0 OS, itself based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The rear camera is purported to have phase detection auto focus technology, but will lack optical image stabilization. Also on board is IP67 certification, NFC, an FM radio, an IR blaster, front facing speakers, and removable StyleSwap covers.

It remains to be seen just what OnePlus plans to do with purchasing plans given that its standard product line has, so far, made use of a highly polarizing reservation system outside of China.

With a launch event set for this week in London, it’s only a matter of time before all of this can be confirmed. In the meanwhile, what do you think about the potential price point?
