Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ gets Android Nougat in Turkey (Update: India too)
June 18, 2025
Update #1, March 30:Samsung’s Galaxy S6 Edge Plus started to receive Android Nougat in Turkey earlier this week and now the rollout has stretched into India and Sri Lanka. The news arrives viaGSMArena, which says that the update features build number G928GDDU3CQC7 and brings with the Android security patches for March.
The update follows a similar trajectory to that of the Galaxy Note 5, starting in Turkey before landing on devices in Indiaa couple of days ago. A comparable schedule is to be expected given that the devices were launched simultaneously in August, 2015.

The Note 5 Nougat update has also cropped up in other areas of the Middle East including Pakistan, Libya, Iraq, Israel, and Iraq, so we’d be surprised if the S6 Edge Plus update isn’t rolling out, or soon rolling out, in similar regions too.
Original story, March 21:Hot on the heels of theGalaxy Note 5 rollout last week, theGalaxy S6 Edge Plusis now being updated to Android Nougat in Turkey. The news arrives via Dutch Samsung fansiteGalaxyClub.nland the update brings the device up to firmware version XXU3CQC7 (same as the Note 5). The required storage space wasn’t noted in the post, but you can expect it to be around 1.3 GB like the Note 5 update.

As we pointed out last week, Samsung is slightly behind schedule for the rollouts in Turkey. According to theroadmapthat a Samsung VP published in February, the S6 Edge Plus was originally scheduled to get Nougat on March 14.
At least we’ve had somereasonablyaccurate information to go on instead of the characteristic manufacturer/carrier silence, though. I’d take a week-long delay to an anticipated rollout over waiting in the dark for it to arrive, hitting that software update button every second to see if it has dropped. Still, I understand the frustrations of those in other territories waiting patiently for Samsung’sNougatupdates — it has been a weird rollout (carrier-branded Galaxy S7sreceived the update before unlocked models, for example).
Meanwhile, the Samsung A3 2016 and A8 are the next devices on the roadmap, expected to receive Android 7.0 in April.
