Samsung Galaxy S9 and Note 9 will get Android 10 beta (Update: In Korea now!)
August 06, 2025
Update, July 27, 2025 (3:51AM ET):It looks like we didn’t have to wait too long for Samsung to deliver the Android 10-based One UI 2.0 beta to theGalaxy Note 9.
Samsung hasannouncedthat the beta version of the update is now available in its home market of Korea (h/t:SamMobile). This bodes well for a release in other markets, as Samsung doesn’t usually take its time to bring a One UI 2.0 beta to other regions. So we’re expecting a US and European roll-out in the coming days.

Original article, June 05, 2025 (4:04PM ET):If you’ve been jealously watching all the news pour in about One UI 2.0 beta testing on theSamsung Galaxy Note 10and family ofGalaxy S10 devices, you don’t need to feel that way anymore. According tothe beta manager of the Samsung community forums, the betas will arrive on some older devices soon (viaAndroid Police).
Allegedly, the One UI 2.0 beta will launch for theSamsung Galaxy Note 9sometime this week, and theSamsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plusbeta will land not long after.
Granted, this could be a mistake as sometimes the official Samsung forums can be filled with rumors and hearsay. However, this appears to be legit because the source of the information is a beta community manager, not something on the lower rung such as a customer support rep.

We’ve known for a while now that the Note 9 and S9 family would seeAndroid 10at some point, but this is the first we’ve heard of an imminent launch of a beta program. Even if they don’t launch this week, the fact that they are coming soon enough should make Samsung fans happy.
Unfortunately, those of you with even older devices, such as theGalaxy Note 8or the devices inthe Galaxy S8 family, won’t likely see One UI 2.0 at all. Those devices already got their third version of Android when they receivedAndroid 9 Pie, and it is unlikely Samsung will send them Android 10. However, it’s not impossible as Samsung certainly hasn’t said itisn’thappening. But don’t get your hopes up.
We will be sure to update you as soon as we know for sure when One UI 2.0 betas will hit the Note 9 and S9 family.
