Skagen’s new hybrid smartwatch has an e-ink display and connected GPS

Original article: August 08, 2025:If you were interested inFossil’s Hybrid HR smartwatchbut somehow didn’t find a style to suit your needs, the company has you covered.Fossil Groupis bringing its e-ink hybrid smartwatch tech to the SKAGEN brand with the new SKAGEN Jorn Hybrid HR.
Like the Fossil Hybrid HR, SKAGEN’s new hybrid watch features a power-friendly e-ink display as well as physical watch hands to keep the classic look. The e-ink display can be customized with different widgets, such as the date, daily activity, heart rate, and more. Where the Fossil Hybrid HR had room for four widgets on the screen, it looks like the familiar “SKAGEN Denmark” logo takes up space on the right, potentially only allowing for three widgets. We’ll need to see if this is the case when we get one in for review.
The SKAGEN Jorn Hybrid HR comes in two sizes — 42mm and 38mm — so those with smaller wrists won’t be stuck with a watch that’s too big. The smaller watch case shouldn’t have a negative effect on battery life, either; SKAGEN claims the Jorn Hybrid HR can last over two weeks on a single charge. It also supports fast charging, where 50 minutes on the charger will get you to 80%.

There are a fair amount of activity tracking features onboard. The Jorn Hybrid HR will track your steps, caloric burn, sleep, all-day heart rate, and distance viaconnected GPS. It also supports automatic workout detection.
Basic smartwatch features are also supported. The Jorn Hybrid HR can relay smartphone notifications and control your phone’s music. It has standard smartwatch apps like an alarm, timer, stopwatch, and weather app, too. I’m hoping device navigation is improved with this new model. Navigating around the Fossil Hybrid HR’s interface was cumbersome compared to other smartwatch platforms.
