July 26, 2025
Today,Xiaomihas unveiled its newMi 4ssmartphone at a launch event in Beijing, China. The handset again looks to be bridging the gap between the mid and high-ends of the market, offering a number of hardware improvements over last year’s Mi 4i.
First up, the Xiaomi Mi 4s has moved on up to aQualcomm Snapdragon 808processor, a hexa-core chip that appeared in last year’s handsets like theLG G4and theNexus 5X. The smartphone is also now equipped with 3GB of RAM, 64GB of internal memory, and has a new microSD card slot, giving it additional memory options over the Mi 4i as well.

The display remains a 5-inch 1080p panel, but users won’t have many complaints with a pixel density of 441ppi. There is a familiar 13 megapixel rear camera with phase detection auto focus and dual-tone LED flash, which is accompanied by a 5 megapixel front facing camera.
Xiaomi isn’t skimping on extras with the Mi 4s either. The handset now features a fingerprint scanner, opening up new security options. The phone packs a 3,260mAh non-removable battery, which can be quickly juiced up using Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 technology. There’s also a USB Type-C connector on the bottom of the phone.

The Mi 4s seems like it will fit nicely in between the company’s older Mi 4 flagship and the new flagship Mi 5. The handset will be priced at CNY 1,699 ($260) when it goes on sale on March 1st. Color options include Black, Gold, Purple, and White.
