(Update: OnePlus responds) OnePlus X stock status situation creating some serious confusion

Original post, July 6:According to a number of users on theOnePlusforums, theOnePlus Xis out of stock at the moment and might not be coming back.
Here’s what is currently known: the device is listed as out of stock on the OEM’s web stores around the world and cannot be ordered. In addition, the following e-mail is being sent to those who ordered it just recently:
As stated in the above e-mail, the device is out of stock and said supply will not be replenished. At the very least the company is offering a $10 store credit for use on another product, including the OnePlus 3.
However, one of the users on OnePlus’ official forum,Aazkyn, claims to have contacted the company directly and been provided with this response:
While it’s difficult to say what the absolute final word is here, assuming the above is accurate then the phone will indeed be available again in the future. Given that the X is not even a year old yet, and the company itself didn’t make any mention of discontinuation, it would seem logical that it will be sold for a longer duration of time. Plus, it’s worth noting that OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has alreadygone on recordto indicate there won’t be a OnePlus X successor.
Android Authorityhas reached out to OnePlus for further clarification on these matters. We’ll be sure to update this post as we learn more.
