What’s your favorite third-party Android skin? [Poll of the Week]

July 30, 2025

Samsung,HTC,LG,Sonyand pretty much every other smartphone manufacturer have their own ideas as to how they think Android should look and act. You won’t get the same software experience on aSamsung Galaxy S7as you would on theMoto X Pure Edition,LG G5orHTC 10, but that’s one of the best things about Android. It’s open, it’s customizable, and if you don’t like a certain company’s software implementation, there’s no need to buy a phone from that company.

Samsung’s TouchWiz has a pretty poor reputation, but it’s hard denying there are some handy software features present on the Galaxy S7 andS7 Edge. Alternatively, HTC’s Sense has long been one of the favorites in the Android world. LG’s UX has gone through quite a few changes in recent years, but it’s looking like most of the changes have been for the better. And Motorola’s skin (if you can even call it that) continues to stick closely to the bare-bones Android we all know and love with just a handful of Motorola’s tweaks thrown in. Even though Motorola’s software interface isn’t necessarily considered an Android “skin”, we still thought it should be included in the poll.
