Windows 11 now supports Android apps via the Amazon AppStore in the US

Today, Microsoft started rolling out the newest update forWindows 11. The update — build 22000.526 — includes new features, such as a new weather taskbar widget, clock/date support on multiple monitors, and a bunch of Edge upgrades.
However, most importantly (and somehow left out ofthe official changelog) is Windows 11 Android app support. This is possible through a partnership with Amazon that brings a limited selection of Android apps to Windows through the Amazon AppStore.

To get Android app support on your Windows machine in the United States, you’ll need to first update Windows itself. Head toSettings>Update & Security>Windows Updateand install the option update you’ll find there (KB5010414). You’ll need to restart after installing.
Once you’re on the newest version of Windows 11, you need to then update the Microsoft Store. Open the Store app and, in the left-hand column, hit “Library.” In there, hit the “Get Updates” button in the upper right. That will update all your installed apps, including the Store itself.
Once that happens, you should find a promotional banner on the first page of the Microsoft Store that talks about Windows 11 Android apps. It will discuss the Amazon AppStore and give you instructions on what to do.
Unfortunately, there are a very limited number of apps available at the moment (about 1,000). This number will likely grow over time.
Also, do keep in mind that this is officially a “preview” of the feature. In other words, expect plenty of bugs and limitations until Microsoft can work out the kinks.
