Xiaomi, Qualcomm could be bringing PC-like game settings to a future phone
June 08, 2025
Many smartphones today have features to improve gaming performance, such as HUAWEI’sGPU Turboand OPPO’sHyper Boosttechnologies. This is in addition to dedicated performance modes that boost system performance in general at the expense of battery life.
It looks likeXiaomiandQualcommcould take things up a notch in a big way though, as frequent tipster Ice Universeclaimsthe duo are working on a brand-new GPU Turbo suite for the rumored Mi 10 Pro Plus. Check out the tweet and accompanying screenshots below.

The images show the ability to choose different GPU performance profiles, namely default, save power, balanced, high quality, and a custom profile. Choose the latter and you’ve got some nifty PC-like settings to tweak, such as anisotropic filtering, texture filtering, and anti-aliasing.
It’s unclear whether these settings would apply to all games in general (akin to NVIDIA’s Control Panel on PCs) or if developers would explicitly need to support GPU Turbo to take advantage of these tweaks. It would nevertheless be pretty interesting if more granular visual controls come to smartphones, giving you the tools to get the performance/visual balance you want.
We’ve asked Qualcomm for comment regarding the leak and whether the supposed feature could come to other phones. We’ll update the article if/when they get back to us.
