Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 with Snapdragon 650 processor launched in India
June 18, 2025
Xiaomi is bringing another affordable mid-ranger to India.
Following therelease of the Redmi Note 3 in Chinalate last year, Xiaomi is now bringing an improved version of the device to its second biggest market, India. The Indian Redmi Note 3 version ditches the MediaTek processor in favor of a more powerful Snapdragon 650, a hexa-core design with two ARM Cortex-A72 processor cores and four Cortex-A53 cores.
There are a couple of other improvements compared to the original version – the battery is a bit larger, at 4050 mAh, compared to 4000 mAh, while the rear camera received an upgrade to a 16MP sensor with phase detection autofocus, able to adapt to the scene in just 0.1 seconds.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 650,launched a year ago as the Snapdragon 618, integrates an X8 LTE modem, which supports 4G+ networks and Voice over LTE calls.
Other than that, the Redmi Note 3 introduced in India today is identical to its Chinese counterpart. The base version features 16GB of storage and 2GB of RAM, while spending a little extra will net you 3GB of RAM and double the flash storage. The screen remains a 5.5-inch LCD panel featuring Xiaomi’s Daylight Display technology, which adjusts brightness and contrast on the fly to account for harsh lighting situations.

The metallic unibody of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is available in Dark Grey, Champagne Gold, and Silver, for Rs. 9,999 for the 16GB/2GB version and Rs. 11,999 for the 32GB/3GB version.
The Note 3 will initially go on sale on Mi.com and Amazon.in, starting next Wednesday, with availability to extend to Flipkart and Snapdeal in the coming months.
