August 15, 2025

Microsoft’sWindows 11has been around for a little over a month now, bringing with it a revised UI,Android app supportfor Insiders, and new multitasking features. But have you bothered to upgrade?

Well, we posed this question in a recent poll asking readers if they’ve made the jump to Microsoft’s latest OS. The results are now in!

Windows 11 beta review

Have you upgraded to Windows 11 yet?

More than 8,300 readers cast their ballot after the poll went live on November 5, and plenty of them have already made the jump. More than a third of readers (36.4%) say they’ve upgraded to Windows 11 within its first month, ditching Windows 10 and sundry.

The remaining four options weren’t separated by much. Around 13% of readers haven’t yet upgraded but are planning to, while 16% don’t intend to upgrade at all. Just over 17% claim that their PC isn’t eligible for the Windows 11 upgrade, while a similar portion of respondents is still weighing up the pros and cons. Looking at the results as a whole, more than 63% of our readers haven’t yet made the jump to Windows 11 for one reason or another.

If you thought the poll results painted Windows 11 dimly, the comments hammer this sentiment home. Reasons for users not yet upgrading include program compatibility fears, familiarity with Windows 10’s UI, and privacy concerns. More interestingly, some readers admit that they’ve tried Windows 11 but rolled back to its predecessor. Others admit to ditching Microsoft’s platform, opting for a Linux-based OS instead. It seems Windows 11 might be a tougher sell, at least to Windows 10 users, than Microsoft would’ve liked. Peruse some more user comments below.
